Ski tours around Bad Kleinkirchheim
With the skis on tour
The Nockberge mountains are a true wonder of nature, and with that comes the perfect destination to immerse yourself in the original form of the sport on 2 boards, even on skis. It is pure adventure, a real contrast to queuing at the lifts and, so to speak, back to the roots: if you have conquered every metre of altitude that you then descend through the wonderful deep snow, you can give yourself a well-deserved pat on the back. This gives you moments of happiness and a feeling of new, almost invincible energy. First, leisurely up through nature, step by step, with the skins on your feet and the Almrausch snack in your rucksack. Then to celebrate the ultimate carving experience on the exhilarating descent through untouched slopes, steep aisles, through powder or firn, depending on what nature and the season have to offer.
Wrapped
in a gentle blanket of snow
When the slopes of Carinthia's Nockberge mountains are thickly covered in a gentle blanket of snow, ski tourers in the Bad Kleinkirchheim ski area undoubtedly get their money's worth. Ski tours of various degrees of difficulty lead into the surrounding snow-covered mountain world, off the beaten track. Especially popular are tours to the Mallnock or the Falkert. Once you've had a taste of ski touring, you'll never want to miss the exhilaration of the high altitude. Leisurely uphill and rapid downhill you feel yourself with every breath. Ski touring is movement at the cradle of the zeitgeist.
The Touring Sports
and its history
However, ski touring was not always "fashionable". It was only in recent years that the sport really took off. In the 1980s and 1990s, it started nice and slow that ski touring gradually established itself among sports visionaries. Since then, the following has been growing steadily.
It's a call for freedom that now drives many avid skiers to climb the lone mountain and then draw their ridge lines down the pristine slopes. With powder alert, freeride addicts often can't help but start marching, often in the darkness, to be at the summit by sunrise. Because there's simply nothing like that feeling of discovery, being the first to enter an untouched slope. However, before every descent in ski touring is the ascent and the planning of the tour. For inexperienced ski tourers, it is always advisable to go with a guide.
Ski tours in Bad Kleinkirchheim
by custom
It is not only important to use the right ski touring equipment, but also to choose the right tour. Besides the feeling of freedom, ski touring also shows us how dependent we are. On nature, on our companions, on the right equipment and on perfect planning. There are simply many rules to follow.
This is true for tours on slopes and in the backcountry. You get to know yourself in the process and correctly assess your own strengths.
The equipment
is the be-all and end-all
The right equipment is the be-all and end-all when ski touring. Because if faults, damage or shortages occur here, things can sometimes get tight in the truest sense of the word. There is now a wide range of equipment available - and it is advisable to seek expert advice.
A basic distinction is made between the hardware, i.e. skis, bindings, poles and boots, and the protective and additional equipment, i.e. helmet, protectors and backpack with avalanche transceiver kit.
The highlight of the region
the Nockberge Trail
Experienced tourers can expect a special experience: the Nockberge Trail is probably one of the most popular ski tours in Carinthia. It leads from the Katschberg over four day stages to Bad Kleinkirchheim, so the untouched winter landscape of the biosphere park can be experienced in a whole new way. The multi-day tour connects the Carinthian ski resorts of Katschberg, Innerkrems, Turracher Höhe and Bad Kleinkirchheim. The tour is also only possible in this direction, from Katschberg to Bad Kleinkirchheim.
